I do not location scout for every session.

I have a deep enough understanding of my craft, equipment, and desired outcome that we can show up to any session, sight unseen, and still create magick together.

For Initiation Ceremony sessions, though, location scouting becomes a necessary, beautiful, and intentional part of our process.

Your Initiation is a space to immerse yourself in nature, open yourself up to all the possibilities, and let yourself be fully seen. The location we choose becomes an integral part of your expression and story.

So much of the magick of this experience begins with you feeling held and safe, which means finding the right location for *you* is deeply significant.

Yesterday, I was location scouting for an upcoming Initiation Ceremony session, and as soon as I found this spot, I knew it was *the one* ✨

Want to know what I’m looking for when scouting locations? I always start with the 3 L’s - light, lines, and layers.

I look for where the light is falling, how it moves, how it will change throughout the day, and how it will enhance the story, emotion, and overall feeling of your Initiation. I pay close attention to the lines created by the light, how the shadows dance and play, how the elements express themselves as a whole, and how we can use those lines to draw even more connection and attention to you and your magick. I search for the layers within everything, looking for how we can integrate you into the location without it overwhelming you and how we can create even more depth and meaning by working with our surroundings instead of against them.

Because Initiation Ceremony sessions are incredibly personal and transformative experiences, I also take time to consider your story, your individual expression, how the set, setting, and elements will hold us in that, and how we can bring your magick to life through intentional nature-connected art and imagery.
