An updated introduction

It's been a while since my last introduction, which means it's probably time for me to say hi again 👋🏽

It always feels like our first instinct when introducing ourselves is to list off our resume or list of accomplishments. And, I often try to remind myself that we are all so much more than our achievements and professions, no matter how much we may love what we do. 

So before I tell you about what I do and why I do it (we'll get to that another day), I want to tell you about who I *am*.

Starting with the basics - in case it's not already clear: my name is Monica. I'm a fiercely independent December Sagittarius with a side of Scorpio. I'm a naturally early riser with a passion for education, equality and justice.
I can be stubborn and emotional, and I struggle with letting go of control. 
I feel all my emotions very deeply, and I have found that to be one of the keys to my healing. I work everyday to be a better friend, lover, business owner and human. And I know I don't always get it right. 
I am a proud woman of colour, raised in poverty by a single mother who was determined to keep the magick of live alive as long as possible. 
I strive daily to continue to know better, do better, be better. It is deeply important to me that I live my values more than I preach them. 

I want to move slowly through my life and feel fully present for every moment, even the hard ones. I want to boldly make a beautiful mess and steep in the sacred magick in everything life brings me. I hope each day finds me more at peace with myself than the last.

Whether this is our first introduction or you've been here for a bit, I am incredibly grateful you're here, friend. Thanks for letting me share myself in these squares. Thank you for supporting me in living my dreams through capturing your magick.
